p.s. Hey. Today Mr. Ehrenstein has kindly devised an enigmatic yet thematically rigorous entertainment form for you. Please be its soul mate for a day and spare a word or more for your thoughtful guest host, thank you, and thanks galore, David. ** David, Hi. I think it’s safe to say, based on the evidence you laid out, that your weekend was guaranteed to be significantly more exciting than mine, but mine was more than satisfactory given my current standards. ** _Black_Acrylic, Oh, the T! Looking good! Everyone, Ben ‘_Black_Acrylic’ Robinson’s mega-wattage podcast Play Therapy now has merch in the form of an official t-shirt that will render you ultra-cool even if you already are ultra-cool and at a most reasonable price. See/score here. ** David Ehrenstein, Thank you mano a mano for today! Everyone, After you revel in David’s post-encompassed gift of the day, you can go see what happened when he did the FaBlog treatment on Joe Rogan if you want. Here. ** Dominik, Hi!!!! I’m way down with lyric heavy music, no prob, and I’m going to see what Lidokami is all about today finally. Ha, a real blurb? I have to write a blurb today. Maybe I’ll steal that one. What did I do this weekend … oh, worked on the haunted house video game-like project, did my bi-weekly Zoom bookclub with my US writer buddies, emails, blog post construction, a bit of ‘I Wished’ press stuff, paid rent, cursed the slightly too hot weather, and that sort of thing. I didn’t know who Finn Wittrock and Cody Fern were until I just googled them. The big celebrities I don’t know are really piling up. Anyway, thank you for the porn. If I could click Play I would. Years and years and years ago I used to date someone who will remain unnamed but who is one of the creators of ‘American Horror Story’. Love following up on the viral success of his American Horror Story-themed porn by shooting a Texas Chainsaw Massacre-themed porn starring William Franklyn-Miller and Toby Nichols, G. ** Derek McCormack, Derek, maestro, warmest greetings and much saluting! Love, me. ** Thomas Moronic, Aw, you know what an honor it was for here and me. I’m glad the blog stopped acting weird and let you see the comments eventually. Enjoy the spectacular general rolling out, dear sir! ** Bill, Oh, right, the fires, Jesus. I’ll try to find ‘The Night House’. Yes, I’ll be able to start making Halloween blog posts so very, very soon! ** James, Hi, man. Thanks for the lovely words to Thomas. Stockholm was very nice. I’m a big fan of Scandinavian travel in general. I have been to Australia — Melbourne and Tasmania — and it was terrific. It didn’t seem that foreign though. It reminded me of LA a lot in a way. As I’m sure you know, the imminent release of my novel is mostly just quite stressful and nerve wracking, but fingers crossed. Thanks! ** Paul Curran, Hi, Paul! Excellence itself to see you! Ha ha, well, it’s supposed to be a big secret but Zac and I directed the ABBA virtual avatar film/presentation in our spare time. I hope you enjoy it. Love from way, way up here to way, way down there. You = bullseye. ** Right. Mr. Ehrenstein has you covered, and I’ll see you tomorrow.
Hi!!
Your weekend sounds pretty eventful – a home kind of eventful, which is my favorite. How’s the haunted house project coming along? And what book do you have to write a blurb for? (Stealing the cowboy blurb sounds like a good plan regardless, haha.)
Yesterday, I went to a book festival. I didn’t have any specific must-buys in mind, so I ended up buying Bret Easton Ellis’s “White”. I’ve read on many platforms that it’s not very good, but I’d like to decide the matter for myself. It’s been ages since I’ve read anything from him.
Really? Wow. That’s an AHS connection I didn’t see coming. Maybe he’s got something to do with all the beautiful boys populating that series?
Yes, I’m not even clicking Play, I’m hitting that thing, haha. I think it might be one of those rare cases when the sequel is even better than the original! Thank you! Love gifting you a Sid Vicious action figure that starts singing “My Way” whenever you look at it, Od.
MERCI DENNIS

yep my weekend went well…. managed to go in the sea upto my shoulders whilst my pal watched my stuff… first time in a long time…. and it felt amazing…. I love the Krays / ‘Killing craze’ so thanks for this post often imagined what it must have been like to have been around ‘them’… also romanticised/imagined about Mcveigh, Eric and Dylan etc…. When I heard about Brandon Hole the shooter… I thought of your ‘Hole’s gonna be big’ gag and it seemed applicable…. Kurt’s last words to Courtney…. also I wrote a poem sometime back (influenced by you) that included a guy with a little horse… so found it interesting when the stories came out straight after about his obsession with My little pony…. always looking out for the next interesting event of a type…. anyways… I just got back from a 13 mile run…. that’s what it takes to keep the fuckin weight off nowadays…. cheers Dennis x David
I enjoyed the Sid Vicious with zero background/context very much. Thank you, guest hosts.
There was wisdom in what you wrote me here last week:
“What is happy? I feel like happiness should be something one redefines as the world continually recontextualizes us. ”
Lots of time off this month for the Jewish holiday season. My boss’s boss invited me to a new year’s dinner tonight since I’m single and don’t have family in Israel. Should be an interesting role to play, promising young company man.
My left eye sees blurry. Going to a cornea specialist next week. Trying not to consult Dr. Google too much in the meantime.
I hope to have something to share here soon as a link or guest post, and then keep going on a regular basis. I’m at a point in grieving my dad where the grief is pushing me to do stuff, whereas before it froze me up.
I think it would be good to start a book club but I think it’s tricky to avoid pseudointellectual bullshit on the one hand and idle chit chat on the other. Is there anything to it besides choosing participants carefully?
I enjoyed the Sid Vicious with no context, thank you guest bloggers.

I hope/aspire to put out a lot of creative work in the new future. My grief for my dad is starting to push me to do things whereas before it would freeze me up.
A book club sounds nice. What have you all been reading? How do the discussions play out?
@ David, thank you for today’s Krays fest. Here in the UK the brothers are true icons and never far away from our tabloid-TV-celeb aesthetic. Diana Dors, Babs Windsor, Ronnie and Reggie, it’s a big thing alright. Ah, Love Is the Devil is such a very great film too.
RIP Jean-Paul Belmondo, eternally cool.
In another timeline, we could’ve gotten a season of AMERICAN HORROR STORY written and directed by you and Zac!
I’m watching SMILEY FACE KILLERS tonight and beginning my “empty horror” essay. Re: what Dominik said about WHITE above, several friends have expressed interest in the film and then told me “I don’t want to see that” after I mention Bret Easton Ellis’ involvement in it.
I’m hoping to interview Todd Haynes about the Velvets doc during the NYFF.
No Spandau Ballet Krays today? The 70-ish British drill rappers Pete and Bas copped their image and persona from the twins.
Hey Dennis, hope you’re well! I’ve been painting a lot recently which you can see on my site (florian-93.com/paintings). Trying to incorporate red and gold along with the usual black and white. It’s always good to see some Francis Bacon here since he’s my favorite painter.
Hope you’ve been doing well, I don’t post as much as I used to online to focus on other things more haha.
