p.s. Hey. ** Arno, Good morning to you! I didn’t know there was a monument to him at his demise point. But of course that makes sense. I can’t think of an individual favorite poem by him off the top of my head. Do you have one? Safe trip back to the relatively real today. Sometimes, and maybe even often, it’s the thinking/developing time that ends up being more important than the physical laying down of the text, in my experience. So, I wouldn’t sweat the low output itself thing. Sounds like plenty happened in your head. That’s not silly at all, no. It only points to a confident issue if you imagine that it does, but it doesn’t necessarily. Tempos vary, for sure. Carlton Mellick III: I’ve never actually read him. Hm. Maybe someday. I don’t know of C.C. Krijgelmans. I remember when I lived in Holland how frustrating it was that my friends would wax enthusiastic about this Dutch writer or that, and almost none of them had been translated into my English, and my Dutch never got good enough to parse literature. I’m guessing Krijgelmans isn’t in English, but I’ll look. I hope you made through your front door in perfect shape. ** _Black_Acrylic, That’s the spirit! Oh, wow, Archie Gray is a serious charmer indeed. Now I’m going to have to start watching the Leeds matches, I guess. Bresson would just have had to make him not smile so much, but yes. ** Dominik, Hi!!! Things got a little delayed, so we’ll start finessing the ghost tomorrow morning. Today we’ll polish up to his arrival point and start batting ideas around. He and the haunted house will take some days to get right, and we don’t have many days available, so … eek. You (and love) have such a knack for nailing the texts I was especially happy to cut and paste. Love giving you (or anyone of your choice) gold irises for 24 hours and following you or them around with a camera crew to document what happens, G. ** Misanthrope, What is Tricia up to these days, I don’t wonder. If I was a multibillionaire I’d build a house that was 80% secret tunnels, I swear to god. ** Bill, It was an intense bunch. Must be an encroachment of the world itself. Skipping the Link novel, thank you. Life’s too shortish. ** Ferdinand, Hi, F. Good to see ya. How’s stuff? I hadn’t seen that exact clip, but, lord, is that debacle covering the news media right now, justifiably. Thanks, pal. ** Steve Erickson, Even when they’re not as fatally oriented, I think a good 80% of the profiles and comments are always daydreams. You’re right: Gary I. on Santos would be killer. Wow. I’m about to get the new Kim Gordon. Yeah, she’s tough. I will argue with you about her being the only forward thinking/moving SYer though. I think Thurston and Lee are still pioneering away constantly. I’d be worried that an EVP research session would call up the kind of ‘horror’ approach that we are trying very hard to avoid. But maybe we should just bite that bullet. Hope not. Oh, I watched this great African film from the early 70s called ‘Touki Bouki’ last night. It’s pretty amazing. Have you seen it? High recommendation if you haven’t. It’s on soap2day. Thanks! ** T, You’re not a slave, ha ha?! Well, I guess that’s why I’ve never put you in the escort posts (not that I’ve ever happened across your profile). I’m sure I don’t need to tell you that the kind of profile you characterise yourself as having is likely the far more successful type than the artsy ones I tend to jump at. The photos are a mix and match to protect the dudes. Plus I think it’s likely that easily more than 50% of the photos they use are fake and stolen from elsewhere. So, that probably explains it. Great about our mutual 31st concert attendance! We need to have the vast majority of the film finished before the 8th, and then we’ll do the SFX after that. So, by the 31st, yeah, it might be in the bank, I hope. I do need endless possibilities today, at least in the audio department (sound mixing from morning to night). I hope your Friday does not mince a single minute. xoD ** Justin, That kind of nostalgia I mentioned is a giant problem with people my age and even younger. It shocks me. Never ever go there, that’s my advice. I was just thinking, ‘fucking hell, it’s the weekend again?!’, yeah. Time is the spookiest of the spooky things. ** PL, Hi! Oh, cool, I’m glad my Geiser tip paid off. You’re angling to be animator! Wow, well, of course. That’s super exciting. Again, until this film work is finished the p.s. is a time when I’m in a hurry to get to work so, again, let me think about suggestions. There are quite a lot out there that I know I like. Sabin Balasa: no, I don’t know of him. Thanks, I’ve noted his name, and I’ll investigate as soon as I’m in free time again. I know, re: Laika/God Jr.’. That was the only time in decades that I said yes to a producer who wanted to adapt one of my novels, ‘cos I thought it could really work with them. Oh well. Enjoy your day utterly! ** Okay. I thought I would endeavor to make the blog look classy today. See you tomorrow.
Hi!!
Do you have a very solid idea of what you’d like the ghost to be like, or is he still somewhat flexible at this point?
It’s always such a pleasure to hear that the same escort/slave-related sentences/phrases tend to catch our attention! There was another one in yesterday’s post that I’ll go back for – just not right now because love has other plans for today.
I’d love to see what happens if I have gold irises for 24 hours (uhm… if I’m able to see, that is). Ignorant and innocent love naming his tiny new jewelry shop “The Golden Shower,” Od.
P.S. A friend will visit us this weekend, so I’ll be back on Monday! Fingers massively crossed for a friendly and cooperative ghost!
Today’s post reminds me of when the The Guggenheim offered a gold toilet to the White house instead of the Van Gogh they requested to lend. Haha the wonky Wonka thing had me chuckling in bed and also made me think of the blog. I quit smoking about two and half weeks ago , substituting with nicorette gums. Not sure if thats the reason formy complete lack of focus and regulation but trying to keep it together. Im really hoping to buy a second hand laptop this weekend so I can switch from lofi recordings on my phone to a better DAW. Think that should do the trick to get me going again. How about you Dennis?
I could never afford to make anything out of gold back when I was an art student. Did cut a few things out of tinfoil, though. There’s a Scottish artist couple called Tatham and O’Sullivan who made a nice golden necklace with the phrase Heroin Kills, but there’s no photographic evidence of this. Maybe I’ll buy the catalogue for their 1999 HK project, which I suspect might well be worth a purchase.
Roni Horn – ‘Gold Field’ and ‘Paired Gold Mats, for Ross and Felix’
Hey, Dennis! Thanks for answering. Loved the photos today. I’m excited for your upcoming film, and I’ll definitely be waiting for your suggestions. As for ‘God Jr.’, do you know if there was any artwork made for the film?
Hey Dennis, I wouldn’t recommend the Link novel for you.
Can’t say this is a favorite color, but there are some clever pieces here. That Louise Bourgeois, nice. What’s the story with the King Zilla, it’s from a video? I can’t seem to find anything online.
Just came across Ruth Goller. I enjoyed the two tracks available here:

Dennis, Well, since you don’t want to know (and I really don’t either), I looked her up, hahaha. She’s kept very private. Married a lawyer, had a son, was a stay-at-home mom, and serves on a bunch of medical research boards. Yawn.
Dude, I’d have so many tunnels that I’d find one I’d forgotten about every other month. 😀
Hope your weekend is great. I’m off work in about half an hour. I have to go into the office Monday. Bleh. But Alex is supposed to come over tonight. And probably tomorrow night. I hope he does. If not, I’ll cry. Okay, I won’t cry; I’ll just find something else to do. 😀
Yeah, TOUKI BOUKI is great. I think it’s also streaming on the Criterion Collection now.
Would anyone wear CNN bling unironically?
Something strange happened to my laptop when I turned it on last night. The colors were wildly distorted. It actually looked pretty in places, but it wasn’t very usable. I didn’t find a solution till this afternoon, but one click in Chrome’s settings instantly eliminated the problem. But I should have taken a screenshot of this page with that color scheme!
Fingers crossed that you finished the sound mix today.
I’ll be seeing the Japanese silent film A PAGE OF MADNESS this weekend. I’m also writing about Med Hondo and interviewing Radu Jude later in March, so I’ll be making my way slowly through their work.
I’ll have to track down that Golden Slave video. Looks interesting. 🤩
I am simultaneously staring at some candle wax on my screen (that I don’t remember being here earlier) as well as annoyingly pushing away the passionately purring cat who keeps nudging the laptop and trying to lay flat on the screen.
Anways hello! I think Gold is like…cool but overrated My very hot take I think Idk. Question me in person and I probably wont remember saying this. OH a gold palace sounds migraine-inducing?
I am on a frustrating venture into refining my very puny skills in mathematics because that has to be my most innate flaws. MATH. But I think its very frustrating to me as I know math is a very fun exciting thing I’m just so poor in it!
What about you?
I try to refrain from typing so much, as I unintentionally do at times, because I know your in a rush!! And besides this waxy stain is getting stifling to look at it so im going to go clean it off now.
Don’t slip on any golden bananas peels today.
I’m going to have to start wearing bubble wrap. Are you a gold fan? Any jewellery? Tattoos? Idk. I got a temp (sharpie) frontal tramp stamp today so I’ve been thinking tattoos a lot.
I should start wearing bubble wrap. Do you like gold? Jewellery perhaps?
The ghost strikes again. 😭
Hi Dennis, I’ll take the skipping stone. At first I thought about saving it for the right time to skip into the abyss but then I had a better idea: skip it on a lake with a rocky bottom and send kids out swimming to find it, finders keepers. The ultimate rich uncle accessory. This post made me feel strange that I don’t own any gold, not even something small and gold leafed/plated. I think it’d be cool to own an ancient coin.
Fun fact: The world’s largest known gold depository is not at Fort Knox, but rather at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York underneath Manhattan:

So glad to see that every time I pop in here your film production has moved along significantly. The Temenos sent out an email with the official dates (bus leaves Athens and welcome dinner June 26th, screenings June 27th-June 30th, bus returns to Athens July 1). They said they’ll send out another email this week for actual signups. This is how to get on the mailing list:
