p.s. Hey. ** _Black_Acrylic, Happy Big Day, Ben. Thanks for the shitty techno link. I’ll use it. ** David Ehrenstein, Festive morning to you! Lukas’s character’s post-apocalypse speech moment in ‘Mars Attacks!’ is one of my favorite things in all of cinema. I interviewed him when he was shooting ‘Johns’ for Spin Magazine, and he was a total sweetheart. ** Bill, Hi, Bill. Merry Scrooge Day. His parts are small in those films, but he’s terrific for as long as he lasts. Yes, and in person that buche is even more incredible than in photos, and I’ll be knocking it off in about, oh, 5 or 7 hours from now. I hope your flight went well, and have a swell one! ** Misanthrope, Merry Xmas, G. Right, I forgot he was in that MCR video or I would have included it. Whoa, no, I did not know that about the writer/son’s interest in my work. That’s very interesting and cool. Huh. Thank you a lot for letting me know that, man. I still don’t think I want to see the movie, but now I do want to read his memoir. You-know-who’s pathetic compromise got soundly rejected. It will be interesting to see how he fantasises his failure into a win. Oh, boy, one more week until LPS won’t be able to get away with stuff. I hope he spends the week realising that and preparing. I’ve got nothing other than buche eating for today. Otherwise, the absolute usual with quieter surroundings, I suspect. I’ll take your word for it about the Holleran. Now ‘V’, that’s a corker. ** Dominik, And a very, very merry Xmas to you, Dominik! xoxo. ** Corey Heiferman, Hi, Xmas greetings! Having been a hard working journalist in my past, I know how you have to find shit like that to hang huge things on for your articles, or, rather, that your editor tells you to hang huge things awkwardly upon. Haas is one of my very, very favorite actors. In fact, I think he’s the only ‘known’ actor I would ever want to have in one of Zac’s and my films. To save my day, I’m going to skip past that Ace of Base link, thank you. Chinese food sounds ace, you’re on. Cold sesame noodle is my favorite food in the entire world. It might even be my favorite single thing period in the world. A GIF can only be one thing — a repeated, looping soundless sequence. All things that qualify as GIFs are A-okay and potentials for me. Have a lovely one. ** Keatonur, I do want some fucking Christmas, you bet, since I have none that isn’t targeted to my taste buds, so thank you very much, and I will partake imminently. Everyone, Keaton’s gift to the world at large including all of us on this Xmas Day 2018 is a new story entitled ‘Shake Your Sugar Cookies’, and if you know Keaton, or if you don’t and are willing to take my word for it, you will click this sometime between right now and when your head hits the pillow, the pavement, or wherever it’s destined to land later on. The holidays and year are nearly toast, so ideally you’ll be perky, if that possible re: the configuration of you, very soon. Big ass Xmas of some spectacular variety! ** Steve Erickson, Merry X! It’s good, right? Dumont did a sequel/TV series follow up to ‘Ptit Quinquin’ recently that showed here a few months ago. I didn’t see it yet, but everyone I know and trust adored it, and I assume it’ll wind up in the States in some form. Obviously, the Spacey video is inexplicably weird. Impossible so far for meat least to figure out where he could be mentally to have thought it was the right thing to do. I do not look forward to it being parsed endlessly on Facebook for the next week, but it itself is truly, truly strange. ** Okay. The blog wishes you a very Xmas-y Xmas in the only way it knows how. See you tomorrow.
jesus, this blog’s finest hour yet i might have to say! gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous all over, will revisit in all the festive seasons to come

Your blog today shows the true spirit of Xmas. In all its glory, disappointment, and importance. I love it. Merry Christmas!
Great Job, Black Acrylic.
And now a song that embodies The True Spirit of Christmas
Dennis, Yeah, a lot of people really seemed to like the son’s book. The funny thing about his article is that he said when he initially showed people the book, they all wanted him to take out the hustling part. The rest was okay. But the hustling…no, don’t do it! Haha.
Of course it got roundly rejected. I think that was expected. It’ll all get worked out, I’m sure. Man, I’m just so stoic about things. Even if I had to stay home and not get paid, I’d be just as stoic. These things have been happening for so many years. I do, of course, feel bad for my friends who had to cancel their vacations and go to work. That really sucks.
A friend of the family came over yesterday and talked to LPS. He’s an electrician in a union and was talking to him about how that whole process works. He said to give him a call and he’d help him out if he wanted to go that route. This guy was one of my brother’s best friends (we’ve known him since we were in middle school) and is one of the ones who survived.
I’ll be chillin’ like a villain today myself. Lots of novel work. Man, I’ll be off 5 days in a row tomorrow and it doesn’t feel like it at all.
Have a great chill day.
Happy Christmas, my hero!
Hey Dennis! Happy Xmas! Apologies for being a stranger. I owe you a well overdue thank you for putting both of my books in your end of year list – that meant a lot. Thanks so much. I’m gonna try and get my list up online in the next couple of days. How’s everything with you? How’s stuff moving along? On my own for xmas/non-xmas again so I’ve just spent the day working on novel number 3. Got two weeks off work which is great. Love and more love to you. xxx
Happy Xmas to you and to everyone here! I was sure the blog took this day off one year or another, but am very happy to see it up and running right now. Here in Leeds we had a nice day, including a walk around the grounds of local stately home Temple Newsam, and then TV was showing Home Alone 2: Lost in New York so it was all Xmassy to the max. Here’s hoping you had a fabulous day!
Happy Christmas to everyone who celebrates it!
That video made me wonder what Nixon would’ve done had social media been around in his time. Or what Trump might end up doing if he faces the prospect of jail time eventually.
P’TIT QUINQUIN got both a theatrical release in the US and streaming on the now-defunct Fandor, so hopefully there will still be interest for the 2nd season.
Happy whatever day you choose to be happy about, everyone. And Ville Valo will always brighten up my day, of course.
Dennis, I can totally see Lukas Haas in a film by you and Zac.
Just started reading some Amina Cain. The quiet, spacious pieces are very nice to distract from frenetic holiday travel.
Bill
Merry Christmas!
